WHAT: South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Fall Conference and T 3 – Teachers Teaching with Technology Regional Conference
WHO: The 2008 SCCTM Fall Conference will provide excellent professional development opportunities for mathematics educators at every grade level (PK-2, 3-5, 6-8, secondary, post-secondary, and general interest sessions) with interesting presentations on a wide variety of topics related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology that can be used immediately in the classroom.
T 3, one of the world’s leading technological and professional development programs sponsored by Texas Instruments for teachers, will be part of this year’s SCCTM Fall Conference. T 3 instructors will also train local/regional educators how to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics using handheld technology and computer software. This type of peer-to-peer professional development enables teachers to immediately put technologies and techniques that are proven successful in the classroom.
WHY: For over thirty years, SCCTM has been providing quality professional development for South Carolina mathematics educators. This year in Charleston, South Carolina, the organization is excited to bring a T 3 Regional Conference. Teachers attending the event will return to school armed with new ideas, new high-tech experiences – and a mission to impart this knowledge to their colleagues and fellow teachers. Come collaborate with state mathematics teachers on the importance of professional development!
